ZERO expands to Britain

av Camilla Svendsen Skriung 03.Feb.2010 - 10:10

ZERO have appointed a project management position on Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) in the United Kingdom, with a special focus on the North Sea area. Neil Crumpton, who also works in the Friends of the Earth Wales, will work towards the UK authorities and is also part of ZEROs NGO Network on CCS around the North Sea.

Neil Crumpton

Crumpton have worked in FoE Wales for over 15 years and have an extensive and rare combination of 15 years of campaigning experience, skills, knowledge, profile, and contacts in climate, energy and transport campaigning in the UK. He also have a wide overview of EU and global energy issues, considerable understanding of CSP (Concentrated Solar Power) , CCS (Carbon Capture & Storage) and nuclear technologies, and some understanding of geo-engineering issues.

Facts:

Removing CO2 from a point source and depositing it in deep geological formations is called carbon capture and storage. You will also find terms like CO2 storage, CO2 handling, or CO2 sequestration used for approximately the same thing. CCS is a widely used acronym for the capture, transport and storage process as a whole.
