The geological structure Vedsted is situated 30 km from Aalborg and the Nordjylland Power Plant, in Jammerbugt Municipality. The site has an expected capacity of 100 mt. The liquid CO2 will be stored underground in a one to two kilometer deep aquifer. The structure has layers of porous sandstone and thick sections of impermeable claystones. There has been oil exploration wells in the structure: Vedsted-1, from 1958 and Haldager-1, from 1950.
