C.GEN will build its first hydrogen plant in the Port of Rotterdam. The plant will have an overall net electricity generating capacity of 400-450 MWe and the ability to separate and prepare the CO2 for transport and storage from the start of its commercial operation.

As a deep sea port, Rotterdam is logistically very well situated. Its infrastructure is also suitable, with sufficient cooling water capacity, possibilities for CO2 transport for storage and excellent interconnection possibilities for transmission of the produced electricity.

C.GEN is also interested in supplying H2 (hydrogen) to industry but also in future ecological applications, such as transport.

Rotterdam offers the location for the construction of a large-scale power station, which has access to the sea for sea ships that can transport the CO2 and the solid fuel.
