CCS on the Kårstø gas fired powerplant postponed

av Audun Rødningsby 15.Mai.2009 - 10:05

The full scale capture project at the Kårstø gas fired powerplant is postponed. That is revealed in the revised national budget for 2009, presented by the Government today. The government will present a revised plan for the capture plant in the budget for 2010. The consequense is at least a year delay.

The CCS-project at Kårstø was one of the most important promises made my the Government when they presented the Government platform in 2005, and is one of the two full scale projects initiated by the Government. The delay is therefore a major setback in the process of CCS in Norway.
